Exceeds All Expectations!!
This condo and its offerings exceeded every expectation from the minute we arrived! The pictures do not do it justice. The complex overlooks the pacific and it’s lush surrounding and is part of the Shana Hotel area. Condo guests have full access to the hotel amenities including the infinity pool, 24/7 security, parking and hotel concierge.
We traveled as a family of five (2 parents and 3 twenty + year-olds) and had plenty of room for all! Besides the deck off each bedroom, the main living area has a larger deck to enjoy morning coffee or the evening sunset. All the furnishings are high-end; stainless steel, granite, travertine tile, wicker furniture, etc. The king beds were extremely comfortable with plenty of pillows. There was also plenty of bath & beach towels! The condo has the best selection of kitchen items including glassware, utensils, paper products, etc.
We rented a car and drove most nights for dinner, there’s also plenty of taxis. I personally would not walk the winding road at night. Manuel Antonio has fabulous restaurants encompassing all monetary levels. There is so much to do in the area; a week was not enough. Favorite tours – Vacation Buggy (rainforest/waterfall), Midworld (ziplining) and Manuel National Park were favorites. The condo is not beach front, but Biesanz beach is well worth the 10+ minute walk. We had too much stuff one day and found easy parking by the road gate. The beach is actually a cove which is secluded and your own piece of heaven. We enjoyed it on two different days and each time there were only 20 or so people there. It’s out of movie!
The owners and condo managers were wonderful to deal with and were available and willing to answer questions and give advice on the area, tours and restaurants. We booked all our tours though Nicole (property manager/Nicole (property manager/concierge) who was a joy to work with!! She met us upon our arrive and stopped to say goodbye. The owner, David contacted us upon our arrival and return. Not sure what more you could - we would recommend to anyone!
Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.
Personalize your vacation
The VP Resort is truly a lovely resort with large indoor and outdoor living areas that comfortably accommodated large dinner parties or small card games. The view of the Pacific Ocean is spectacular and even more beautiful when the sun went down. Furnishings, electronics, air- conditioning and amenities were all to our standards or better.
For me what truly sets VP Resort apart is that this is a personal vacation that my husband and I got to share with 14 of our friends. The chef was there to please us with fabulous meals, housekeeping comforted us with clean rooms, the gardener surprised us with fresh coconuts and star fruit, the night security kept us feeling extra safe. The concierge was available if needed.
The location is primo in that the bus stop, taxicabs, grocery store and excellent restaurants are a short walk from the resort. There are so many excursions to take advantage of we were wishing we had more time. We loved our time at VP Resort and would do it again!
Convenient, laid back luxury
The husband and wife team of manager, Kent, and concierge, Estela were fantastic. I spent more time working with Kent prior to our arrival getting the lease and other details taken care of. Throughout the process he was great answering any questions/concerns I had promptly and thoroughly. He is very customer oriented. Estela, met us promptly at the Penthouse with the keys and showed us the "ins and outs" of the property. She then provided us with the lay of the land concerning places to eat, drink and swim; she knows it all and is a real professional. Check out was quick and easy. Everything about this couple shows the care and work they put into their properties. It was a joy working with them.
The property itself is remarkable. The setting is laid back and peaceful yet within 15 minutes of everything. I’d recommend bringing walking shoes because the hills around can be daunting.
The centerpiece of the property for us was the floor to ceiling windows/doors that really brought the outside in. With views of the Pacific and the surrounding rain forest from every room there was always something going on. If not the Capuchin monkeys playing curiously in the nearby trees (or on the balconies) then it’s the Howlers heard nearby yet, virtually unseen moving through the canopy like ghosts.
The penthouse has nearly all the amenities one could hope for from stylish plates, soft linens and plenty of towels, even the all important corkscrew. Having a washer/dryer was really a nice feature too. The furniture is relaxed and comfortable. The beds are very sleepable with comfy linens and pillows. We were traveling with our 19 and 21 year old children and the 3 large bedrooms provided enough of an escape that everyone could get moments alone as needed. All in all, the penthouse was very relaxing and comfortable.
Having access to the amenities at the Pacific Souss, was another real plus. Its pool area is very clean, relaxing and comfortable. Hard to find much to complain about.
