Tortuga is a cozy 1-bedroom apartment in Villa Mar y Sol--a boutique villa comprised of just 4 apartments, sharing a large pool. Located in quiet residential neighborhood, the area is known for its wildlife.
"Villa Mar y Sol is a towering, white villa located in central Manuel Antonio in a quiet residential neighborhood known for its abundance of wildlife. There are a total of 6 bedrooms divided into 4 apartments--3 of which are in the main home and 1 of which is located under the pool area. They are:
Jaguar - 2-bedroom ocean-view penthouse apartment (upper 3 levels)
Lapa Roja - 2-bedroom treetop apartment (below el Jaguar)
Mariposa - 1-bedroom rainforest apartment (lower level)
Tortuga - 1-bedroom rainforest apartment (below pool)
Each of the apartments is accessed independently and shares an idyllic pool and barbecue area. The infinity-edge pool is expansive, with ocean views and a resort-like feel. There is a gas grill and bar area for your convenience. Lounge chairs, shade sails and a bar area make for perfect relaxation, and a western orientation makes for fantastic sunsets. All around the villa are beautiful, tropical gardens and rainforest.
Tortuga is located on the lowest level, beneath the pool, and enjoys the greatest privacy. There is a spacious deck outside to spend your afternoons enjoying the surrounding beauty. There is also a futon in the living area for a small child.
Villa Mar y Sol is located in Valle Pura Vida, which literally translates as the ‘Valley of Pure Life’. True to its namesake, the area is rife with wildlife and natural beauty. A nearby scarlet macaw reintroduction project funded by the Gaia Hotel means that these giant, exotic and colorful birds are ever-present. It’s also common to see monkeys, toucans, iguanas, sloths and other animals directly from your balcony. If that’s not enough, the villa is also a 45-minute hike to Manuel Antonio’s only real waterfall, and 30 minutes from the area’s more secluded, rocky beaches.
Villa Mar y Sol is ideal for nature-lovers and relaxation-seekers alike!"
